About the flag
Afghanistan is often said to have changed its flag more often than any other country in the 20th century. The black-red-green tricolour carries a mosque framed by wheat; since 2021 a white flag with the Shahada has also been used.
How to spot it: Vertical black, red and green stripes with a white mosque-and-wheat emblem in the centre.
