About the flag
It has the longest shape of any national flag, 11 by 28. Its nine white points are said to mark Qatar as the ninth member of the Gulf emirates bound by treaty with Britain.
How to spot it: Maroon, not bright red, with a nine-point white zigzag at the hoist and a very long shape; Bahrainโs is red with five points.
