About the flag
Adopted in 1990 when North and South Yemen united, it keeps the red, white and black shared by both earlier flags and drops their stars and triangle.
How to spot it: Plain red-white-black horizontal stripes with no emblem; Egypt and Iraq add symbols to the white band.
