About the flag
Legend says revolutionary leader Jean-Jacques Dessalines tore the white out of the French tricolour in 1803, joining the blue and red into Haiti’s flag.
How to spot it: Blue over red with a white panel showing a palm tree and cannons; Liechtenstein is also blue over red but has a gold crown top-left.
