About the flag
Its black, yellow and red come from the arms of the old Duchy of Brabant: a gold lion with red claws and tongue on a black shield. The official flag is unusually close to square, at 13:15.
How to spot it: Vertical black-yellow-red with black at the hoist; Germany uses similar colours but in horizontal stripes.
