About the flag
The red-yellow design was chosen by King Charles III in 1785 so Spanish ships would be easier to recognise at sea. The coat of arms includes the Pillars of Hercules with the motto Plus Ultra.
How to spot it: Red-yellow-red horizontal with the yellow band twice as tall as each red one, and the coat of arms toward the hoist.
