About the flag
Adopted in 2008, it was deliberately designed to avoid any single ethnic group’s symbols. It shows a gold map of the territory, and the six white stars are usually said to represent its main ethnic communities.
How to spot it: Blue field with a gold map silhouette and an arc of six white stars above it; Cyprus has a copper map on white.
