About the flag
It descends from the orange-white-blue Prince’s Flag of William of Orange, one of the earliest tricolours. The orange was gradually replaced by red, but orange remains the Dutch national colour.
How to spot it: Horizontal red-white-blue with a dark blue bottom stripe; Luxembourg’s blue is much lighter, and France’s stripes are vertical.
