Melanesia. Papua New Guinea (huge), Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji. PNG's 800+ languages are the world's most.
Micronesia. Tiny Pacific: Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Palau, Kiribati, Nauru. Kiribati is the only country in all four hemispheres.
Polynesia. Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu — vast Pacific stretches. Samoa skipped a calendar day in 2011 to switch date-line sides.
